WebThe Palisades unit of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is the southernmost unit in the park, located near the junction of I-75 and I-285 northwest of Atlanta. Vinings is the closest town to the park. The river splits the unit in two, creating a west and an east side. Both sides have hiking trails and a picnic area. WebIn 2014 the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area came out with new trail maps and placed trail map stands at each intersection. These two improvements greatly enhance the hiking experience at the park.
